SPRING TRAINING - APRIL 14, 2009
Lake Washington - Seattle, WA.
"Spring" Training? With a strong northerly wind that developed into small white caps for a while along with a chilly starting temperature (38 degrees), both the Miss Thriftway and Miss Bardahl showed up along with six unlimited lights and four lighter than lights to test their setups. It felt more like January than April but all teams were rarin' to go! We had two propellers to try, and over the winter Chief changed the carb to try to make it run richer. Both tests were successful.
We were able to give rides to Rick Young (Walrus Machine), Gary Baker - dad of our prop guy Scott Baker, and Nancy Wheeler.
Thanks to Joe Frauenheim and the ULHRA staff for putting on another successful Spring Training.
What can you say about Chris Denslow? He has done so much for us by allowing us to focus on running the boat rather than worry about "are we getting enough pictures?" Once again he showed up with his camera and excellent skill and spent the day shooting pictures. The photos below are all his but you can view his entire gallery at SmugMug
THANKS CHRIS!!!!!! WE REALLY DO APPRECIATE YOUR WORK!
In addition to Chris, we would also like to thank Ed Clark and Steve Montgomery for providing the photos below!
